Disenchantment

disenchantment. Religion as a natural phenomenon - a book by American philosopher Daniel Dennett, which presents a scientific study of the phenomenon of religion, to predict its future. He considers arguments for and against such analysis. He writes that the spell that he hopes to break is not religion in itself, but the belief that religion is beyond the scope of scientific inquiry.

The book is divided into three sections:

The definition of religion used by the author is "a social system whose participants profess faith in the supernatural factor, or the factors they seek." He states that this definition is only a "starting point, not something engraved in stone."
