Sumina is a railway station located in the village of Sumina. In the interwar period, it was a border station with the German state. It is a rather large station on which there is a turnout for two routes in the direction of Rybnik - the first, mainly used by passenger transport by Rydułtowy, the other by Jejkowice. There are several parking tracks on which goods warehouses are waiting for a free lane in the direction of the Rydułtów, where the traffic is limited by the fact that the tunnel in this city leads a monorail line reducing its capacity.

He served in the Latvian army. In 1924 he graduated from military academy. He was assigned to the 8th Infantry Regiment in Daugavpils. In 1934 he was transferred to the Staff Battalion. He then commanded a company in this battalion as a captain. After the occupation of Latvia by the German army in 1941, he cooperated with the occupying forces. On July 28, he was the commander of the 4 Latvian Schum Company, and from February 21, 1942 - the 18th Schuman Battalion. On June 1, 1943, he entered the Latvian SS Legion, receiving the rank of Waffen-Hauptsturmführer der SS. On August 1st, he headed the SS-Wach-Bataillon "Riga". In December he took command of the 2nd Battalion 32th Grenadier Regiment SS in the 15th Grenadier Division SS. From March 8th to April 7th, 1944, he commanded the Regiment, then became commander of the 3rd Battalion, then the 1st SS-Grenadier Ausbildungs ​​and Ersatz Brigade 15. Battalion. From September 10th he was commander of the 43th Grenadier Regiment of the SS in the 19th Grenadier Division SS. In October he took command of the 2nd Battalion of the 44th Grenadier Regiment SS, and then the 2nd Battalion of the 33rd Grenadier Regiment SS in the 15th Grenadier Division SS. For most of the time he commanded the entire regiment. On January 25, 1945, he assumed command of the 32th SS Regiment of the Frenadier. At the end of the war he had the degree of Waffen-Sturmbannführer der SS. On February 3 he was killed in fighting in Pomerania.
