New-Rudy gabrowo-diabase massif

Nowa Ruda gabrowo-diabaz massif (Nowa Ruda-Słupca massif gabrowo-diabase massif), a small geological unit in the Sudetes, made of several varieties of gabr and diabas. It runs in the direction of NNW-SSE, between Nowa Ruda and the vicinity of Bożków, about 9 km. It builds the north-eastern part of Novorossiysk.

Geographically, the New-Sudetic massif lies in the Middle Sudetes, while in terms of geological structure, these regions are part of the West-Sudan structure.

From the north and north-east it borders on the tectonic plateau with the Red River, and from the west and south-west with the sediments of the mid-Sudetic Basin. Rock masses are part of the substrate of the Reddish trench and, perhaps, the bardic structure. Gabra and diabras were operated in several quarries. Currently, a large mine of diabase is in operation in Dzikowiec, belonging to the Silesian Mineral Fertilizers sp. Z o.o. and mainly producing broken aggregates, broken sand, grits, blends, etc.
