Palla rings
Palla rings (beige and big white) and Bialecki rings (other)
Pall rings - a type of filling of mass extruders such as rectification columns or absorption columns used in chemical industry installations. Pall rings are shaped like perforated tubes with a height close to the outer diameter. Rings are usually made of steel or plastics (polypropylene), chemically inert to the media flowing through the column. Similar in design to Bialecki rings.
Pall rings are used to increase the efficiency of the processes carried out in columns, by developing a liquid-gas interface. It is assumed that the efficiency of the absorption process on the fill made from the Pall rings is up to 40-50% greater than on the Raschig ring fill.
