Pihlajavesi

Pihlajavesi is a lake in Finland, in the province of Eastern Finland, in the Southern Savonia region. This lake is the sixth largest in Finland; its surface area is 712.59 km². Pihlajavesi is the second largest reservoir in the Saimaa lake system.

Pihlajavesi is a natural water reservoir. This lake is a glacial lake, formed after the glacier.

There are no open water areas in Pihlajavesi. The reason for this is that the lake has more islands than any other Finnish lake - it has as many as 3,819.

The name of the former Pihlajavesi municipality (now a part of Keuruu municipality) is also named after the lake.
