Richard Schröder


Richard Schröder (born April 14, 1921 in Hamburg, Germany) - SS-Unterscharführer, member of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp.

He graduated from a trade school and became a freight forwarder. On 1 October 1933 he joined the Hitlerjugend, 1 December 1939 to the NSDAP, and 30 May 1940 to the SS. In December 1940, Schröder was assigned to the Auschwitz concentration camp, where he served as an accountant until January 1945. He had only a secretarial duty, so he was not in contact with prisoners. December 22, 1947, convicted for participation in criminal organizations (ie SS and Auschwitz-Birkenau camp) by the Supreme National Court in Cracow in the first Auschwitz case for 10 years in prison. Richard Schröder was released from prison in the mid-1950s under an amnesty. Bibliography
