Weather window
Atmospheric window - spectral range of electromagnetic radiation poorly absorbed by the atmosphere. For the Earth's atmosphere, it falls on waves of 8-14 μm (infrared radiation). The atmospheric window allows the emission of heat radiation from the surface and the Earth's atmosphere into space at about 100 W / m². In areas of waves that are poorly absorbed by the atmosphere, it is possible to observe the surface of the Earth from space (eg with IR cameras placed on satellites). Absorption of electromagnetic radiation through a cloudless earthly atmosphere. The blue area in the range of 8 - 14 μm corresponds to the terrestrial atmosphere in infrared. The blue area in the range of 0.01 - 0.7 μm is ultraviolet and visible light
