Classification of forest stand
Classification of forest stand - an indicator of the production potential of a forest habitat for a given species. The class of boning is determined separately for the basic species of forest based on the age and height of the stand. In Poland, the average height is used for this purpose, while the upper one is the world standard. The boniton curves are used to illustrate the evolution of the height of the stand together with the age of the different habitats. The graphs of the boning curves of the main species of forest trees can be found in the tables of abundance and growth of stands. The boniton curves are also described in the form of statistical models [1,2]. In Poland the boniton class is marked with Roman numerals I-V (for pine Ia, I, II, III, IV, V). Potential productivity of the habitat is also determined by the boniton index. Bibliography
