Olga Sławska-Lipczyńska

She was born in Lviv as Olga Prorubnikov. However, it was under the pseudonym Olga Sławska. A graduate of the ballet school at the Warsaw Opera. In the years 1932-1937 she was a dancer at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. She began her artistic career with the Golden Medal at the International Dance Competition in Warsaw in 1933. From 1935, the prima ballerina of the Teatr Wielki, from 1937 the representative of the Polish Ballet.
Shortly before World War II, she became the fiancee of the prosperous industrialist and Senator of the Republic of Poland, Tadeusz Karszo-Siedlewski, who wrote her honor in his testament. After his sudden death in 1939 she inherited Zakłady Przemysłowe K.R. Vetter in Lublin and the villa Mon Plaisir in Błota. In 1941 she married Michał Lipczyński. As a result, her three sons were born: Grzegorz, Paweł and Piotr.
After the war in 1946, she settled a court settlement with the Karszo-Siedlewski family concerning the division of property after Tadeusz Karszo-Siedlewski. She withdrew from work on stage, and devoted herself to pedagogical work. She first taught at the Choreographic High School in Gdańsk. In the years 1951-1973 she was a pedagogue and artistic director of the State Ballet School in Poznań. Since 1991 its name has been used by the General School of Ballet in Poznań.
Olga Sławska-Lipczyńska is buried in the Municipal Cemetery No.1 in Poznan.
