Aushra (Aušra) - Lithuanian monthly published in Rageta and Těšín in the years 1883-1886. The first issue in Lithuanian language.
It was created in 1883 on the wave of the Lithuanian national revival and was of great importance for its sustainability and awakening.
The first journal editor was Jonas Basanavičius, who, along with Jonas Šliūgas, was one of the publishers of the magazine. Auszra supported the Lithuanian national consciousness, and promoted Lithuanian culture in Poland (among others, disseminated the use of the letters "č" and "š" instead of Polish "cz" and "sz"). It appeared every month from 1883 to 1886 in Tilsit (in Russia there was a prohibition on publishing in the Latin alphabet). In total, 40 issues have been published. Bibliography
