galvanized steel

Galvanized steel is a corrosion-resistant steel by applying a zinc layer.

Zinc coating protects the steel for many years and requires no maintenance. In addition, it is possible to prolong its durability and give the products the desired aesthetic qualities by coating the galvanized surface with additional varnish or paint coating.

The anti-corrosion properties of zinc coatings are that zinc can form extremely resistant and extremely difficult soluble coatings. They form when exposed to air and water, consist mainly of basic zinc carbonate and they are responsible for proper corrosion protection. Although they are in small amounts over the years, they are borne by the wind and weather, but because of the zinc under them, they are reborn. The quality of the obtained zinc coatings (gloss, smoothness, thickness, adhesion, etc.) varies on them and depends on the chemical composition, particularly on carbon, phosphorus and silicon content. The carbon and silicon content in steel should not exceed 0.5% in total.
