Breakthrough of Leśnicki Potok
View from the forest. On the left side of Sama One, on the right is Tilana, above her Sokolica Vertical Walls Lined Leśnicki Potok - a deep gorge in the final section of the Leśnicki Potok valley in the Slovakian Pieniny. It has a length of about 500 m, is narrow and has very steep and high walls gouged in limestone and dolomite rocks by Leśnicki Potok (this is the so-called river break). From the south side of the ravine you create a rock called Samna Jedna, from the north of Tlana and the slope of Bystrzyca.
The bottom of the ravine runs down the stream and runs a narrow, asphalt road from the Pieniny Road to Dunajec to the Slovakian village of Leśnica. Until 1976 it was the only road to this village (there was no road to the Great Lipnik). The road is available only for cars carrying rafts that run down the Dunajec River and for bicycles. For pedestrians there is a path separated from the road by rail. It is a popular walking route from Szczawnica to Lesnica. It is located here, slightly above the outlet of the ravine restaurant and hotel "Chata Pieniny", camping site, parking (access only by Grand Lipnik), buffet, playground.
Since 1987 the Leśnicki Potok Gorge is a strict nature reserve. On its rocks there is one of only eight views of the Sawin juniper in the Pieniny, as well as the yew, relict, specimens of pine and other trees. It is also rich in limestone vegetation, among others. early flaxed carnation, bitter scab. Hiking trails - blue from Pieniny Road, along the stream through Leśnica and Limierz Pass (Targov) to the Red Monastery. Bibliography
