Bron-Yr-Aur
Bron-Yr-Aur Bron-Yr-Aur is a 17th-century house in Gwynedd, Wales. In Welsh, the name of the house means the golden hill. Bron-Yr-Aur gained fame mainly due to its association with Led Zeppelin. In the years the house was used by the family of singer - Robert Planta, as a place for summer vacation. In 1970, Robert Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page recreated there forces after a long and exhausting tour of the United States. The lack of current water and electricity inspired them to write and record several songs that were featured on the album Led Zeppelin III. These were "Friends", "Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp" and "That's the Way." Other Led Zeppelin songs in Bron-Yr-Aur: "Over the Hills and Far Away," "The Crunge" (both Houses of the Holy), "The Rover", "Bron-Yr-Aur" and "Down By The Seaside" with Physical Graffiti and "Poor Tom" with Cody. Songs that have never been on the official Led Zeppelin album are "Another Way To Wales" and "I Wanna Be Her Man."
Robert Plant returned with Jimmy Page to Bron-Yr-Aur while recording Jimmy Page & Robert Plant: Unledded in 1994. Scenery of the area can be viewed in the DVD version of this album.
