Homogeneous mixture

Homogeneous mixture - a mixture in which the individual components are uniformly mixed, even on a molecular scale, eg air, solutions.

Homogeneous mixtures are said when the individual components can not be distinguished even when a very powerful microscope is used: the molecules or ions of the components are so well mixed that the composition of the mixture is uniform at all locations, regardless of the size of the sample.

For example, syrup is a homogeneous mixture of sugar and water. The sugar molecules are separated and mixed thoroughly with water so that separate areas or separate particles can not be seen under the microscope.

Homogeneous mixtures are called solutions. Bibliography
