Georg Bachmayer (born August 12, 1913, died 8 May 1945) is a Nazi war criminal, 1st Schutzhaftfwangerfuwhrer of Mauthausen concentration camp and SS-Hauptsturmführer.

As a shoemaker. Member of NSDAP and SS. From March 1940 to May 1945 Bachmayer was the first camp manager and deputy commander Franz Ziereis in the main camp Mauthausen. He was one of the greatest criminals and principal terrorist in Mauthausen. He directed the action of gasing the prisoners and mass executions. He personally tormented the prisoners, chewed their dogs, tortured or sentenced to inhuman torture and punishment. He responded to the murders committed on the prisoners and Soviet prisoners on block 20, called the block of death. Bachmayer had a cruel sadist in the camp. At the end of 1943 he organized and was the first commandant of Ebensee, the sub-camp of Mauthausen, in which he introduced the rule of terror. By the end of the war, about 20,000 people were killed there.

At the beginning of May 1945, Mauthausen escaped from the advancing American forces. On May 8, 1945, near Schwertburg, Bachmayer first shot his wife and children and then committed suicide, avoiding responsibility for his crimes. Bibliography
