Konrad Babenberg


Konrad Babenberg (born ca. 1115, September 28, 1168) - Bishop of Passau in 1148-1164 and Archbishop of Salzburg in 1164-1168. Konrad was the son of Leopold III and Agnieszka von Waiblingen. In 1140 he was a preacher of the chapter in Utrecht, and in 1143 in Hildesheim. In 1148 he became Bishop of Passau. In 1159 confirmed the privileges of the city of St. Pölten.

On June 29, 1164, he was elected archbishop of Salzburg. During the schism, he maintained neutrality. Neither Pope Alexander III nor Paschalis III anti-Pascal.
