Liberal Party (Switzerland)


The Swiss Liberal Party is a liberal party which operates in Switzerland. He belongs to the Liberal International.

In 2003, the party cooperated with the Radical-Democratic Party of Switzerland (FDP). However, the result achieved by LPS was small, amounting to only 2.2% of votes, compared to 17.3% achieved by FDP. It is worth noting that the results achieved by the parties in the Protestant, French-speaking cantons. An example of this is the result achieved in the Canton of Basel-City, which amounted to 16.8%.

In 2003 the party won 4 of the 200 seats in the parliament. In 2005, the party won 3.7% of votes in the cantonal parliament and 2.9% of the votes in the cantons. In the last parliamentary elections held in 2007, the party won 1.8% of the vote, which again gave it the opportunity to introduce four Members.
