Michał Mięsowicz


Michał Mięsowicz (born September 19, 1864 in Korczyna, March 25, 1938) - founder and owner of the First National Factory of Watches in Krosno (1901), watchmaker and entrepreneur - multiple winners of national and international industrial exhibitions, in. In 1908 the gold medalist of the International Industrial Exhibition in Paris for the clock tower.

In Krosno he performed many social functions, including The Chief of the Cech Wielki, the chairman of the commission of apprenticeships examinations, the President of the Association of Bieszczady "Zgoda" Association, as well as a member of the Krosno City Council and vice-mayor of Krosno. "The first National Factory of Watches" in Krosno existed between 1901 - 1938. The headquarters was located in the Miesowicz family building located in the city center near Fary. On the ground floor there was a forge and machining department for larger parts of the clocks, the floor was made of fine parts and the assembly of mechanisms and clock faces. One of the greatest achievements was made in 1927. Clock with the mechanism of winning on the bells of the Marian Song "Witaj Święta", for the Church of the College in Szamotuły. This clock still functions today as well as three clocks existing in Krosno (on the building of the former City Hall, on the tower of the parish church and on the court building), on the tower of the town hall in Brzozow, at the House under the Globe in Krakow. Mięsowicz's factory existed until 1938. Michał Mięsowicz was buried in the old part of the municipal cemetery. After his death, due to family financial troubles, the factory building was sold. At present, the factory of the former factory is the Museum of Craft. A clock (partially reconstructed) from the factory was installed. Bibliography
