Roman Łobodycz


Roman Łobodycz in 1935 Roman Łobodycz (born January 8, 1893 in Stanislaus, died August 22, 1969 in Philadelphia) is a Ukrainian social activist, Greek Catholic priest, activist of the Ukrainian National Revival (UNO), senator of the 4th term of office in the Second Republic.

He graduated from Stanisławów High School and studied at the Faculty of Theology of the Franciscan University in Lviv. During the First World War, in the Austro-Hungarian Army, initially as a volunteer in the sanitary service, after receiving a priestly ordinance, the chaplain on the Italian front, where he was captured. During the Polish-Ukrainian war the chaplain of the Ukrainian Halic army. In the Second Polish Republic the priests in Lviv, the Jews, Halicz and Załukwi. Member of the City Council in Stanisławów. An activist of many Ukrainian cultural and educational associations. Member of the Supervisory Boards of the Platinum Mortgage Bank in Lviv and the Mutual Insurance Company "Dnister". Member of the Ukrainian National Renewal (UNO). Canon of the Greek Bishops' Curia in Stanislawow (1930). From November 1938 in the chapter of the Greek Catholic Archbishopric in Lviv. After World War II he stayed in Philadelphia. In the years 1957-59, the president of the Ukrainian-Catholic Union of "Prowydinnia" in the USA.
