Wojciech Dutka (ecologist)


Wojciech Dutka (born 31 December 1946, 12 October 2005) is a Polish environmental activist, founder and editor-in-chief of "Przegląd Komunalny" monthly, president of ABRYS Ltd., founder of the Polish Municipal Equipment Foundation, member of the Polish Ecological Club, Polish Association of Sanitary Engineers and Technicians and Polish Society of Consultants, co-founder of the Regional Department of the Polish Chamber of Ecology in Poznan.

For several terms he held the position of councilor, acting in the self-government of the municipality of Luboń. He served as a delegate to the Local Government of the Poznań Voivodship (SSWP), where he headed the Environment Protection Committee, initiating, inter alia, the creation of problem teams for Environmental Education and Solid Waste. Member of the Presidium of the SSWP.

In 1991, he founded the "Communal Review", the first Polish magazine dedicated to municipal services and public administration. Founder of the magazine "Recycling", "Clean Energy", "Water Supply and Sewerage" and "Lexicon of Municipal Technology". Co-founder of about 200 programs and conferences organized by his company - Abrys.

The organizers of ecological conventions within the POLEKO Tag, which became later in the International Ecological Congresses in Poznan, and now the largest such event in Poland, called the International Congress of Environmental Protection "ENVICON". Organizer of the two editions of educational and pro-ecological events aimed at young people - EKO MEDIA FORUM. Promoter of the Glass Statuette Competition, the Recycling Cup, and the Organic Labor Award for Environmental Protection.

He co-founded the editorial office of the Luboń News and a member of the "Lubońskie" Association of Culture and Education.

He died on October 12, 2005, posthumously honored with the Environmental Protection Award, which now bears his name. Honors Bibliography
