Ethics information
Information ethics is a field that deals with the study of ethical issues arising from the development and application of information technology. It provides the basis for critical consideration of moral issues regarding the creation, storage, collection and processing of information. Information ethics is closely related to computer ethics, information philosophy, and media ethics.
Information dilemmas are becoming increasingly important in relation to the role it plays in the society, termed "information." Information ethics examines widely understood issues of ownership, privacy, and information security in society. There are professional codes that provide the basis for making ethical decisions and applying ethical solutions in situations where information needs to be used and accessed that reflect the efforts of organizations seeking responsible service. The dynamically changing role of information, the need for it and its formats, also require continuous analysis of the ethical foundations and the way in which these codes are implemented.
The major, peer-reviewed journal on ethics is Ethics and Information Technology.
