Kaniowski Castle

Michał Andriolli's illustration for the song "Kaniowski Castle"

Kani Castle - romantic poem by Seweryn Goszczyński, a typical example of Polish black romanticism. It was written in 1828 and refers to the events of the collision. It consists of three parts. The action takes place in Kania in Ukraine, abounds in gruesome and bloody events. Among the many characters of this frenetic novel are: Cossacks (Nezab, Nebaba and their people, usually robbers), bad Polish ruler of the castle, married by him the trick of Orlik (then co-killer). The castle is finally destroyed.

A good example of a novel language is the following section from the end of the second part of the song:

Comparing the magnitude of the horrors in the ruler's chamber to the paintings, which - according to the author - see the eyes of the suicide.
