Liberius Maximus
Lucius Liberius Maximus was the prosecutor of Judea when the legate of this province was Secular Lucius Bassus (71-73 / 74).
After the fall of the Jewish Uprising Judea was a province completely separated from Syria (provincia imperialis) and was the property of the imperial dynasty. The governor was the emperor's legate. The prosecutor was also subject to this, which dealt primarily with financial matters. In this province the emperor continued to profit for himself, but also had to cover expenses (eg military) from his own casket. Liberius Maximus is considered to be the same as that quoted in a certain Latin inscription L. Laberius Maximus. He was the financial administrator of this province.
The 83 was only for a month (9 June to 9 July) Praefectus Alexandreae et Aegypti. In 84 he was appointed by the emperor Domitian the prefect of the Praetorians.
Liberus Maximus was born in Lanuvio. His son was Manius Laberius Maximus, a prominent senator and military officer during the reigns of Domitian and Trajan.
