Mark Pump 13/18
Mark 13/18 - British guided bomb driven on a laser-lit target.
The Mark 13/18 bomb was built in the late 1970s, thanks to the collaboration of British company Portsmuth Aviation Ltd. and American Texas Instruments. This is a combination of the British 1000 1000 pound 1000 MC bomb and the modified guiding and deflection system of the GBU-10 bomb. The Mark 13/18 bombers were equipped with Panavia Tornado, SEPECAT Jaguar and Hawker Siddeley Harrier.
For the first time the Mark 13/18 bombs were used during the Falkland-Malvinese War, during which Harrier bombers dropped several bombs of this type for the purposes highlighted by observers on the ground. Again Mark 13/18 bombs were used during Operation Desert Storm by Tornado aircraft. Because these planes were not integrated with the appropriate trays to highlight the targets, Tornado bombers and Blackburn Buccaneers (highlighting targets using Pave Spike trays) were made.
At the end of the 1980s, the Mark 13/18 bombs were replaced by the GBU-24A / B bomb modifications required by the British Bibliography
