Kauno town hall (kauno rotušė) - Kaunas town hall, in the Old Town, pl. The town hall, dating back to the 16th century, is commonly called the "white swan" hare. It is 53 meters high.

It was erected in 1542 as a low-rise, unstructured building without a tower. In the years 1771-1780, the architect Jan Matekeri rebuilt in an eclectic style.

In 1824, the Orthodox Church was placed in the town hall, then the headquarters of the Kaunas artillery. Fourteen years later, the building was transformed into a tsar's residence, rebuilt in the style of classicism with Gothic and Baroque elements. For a while there was a theater, and from 1869 to the First World War the Russian administration of Kaunas.

After the independence of Lithuania, the town hall was still occupied by the municipal authorities. After 1945, the Kaunas National Technological Library was occupied by the Kaunas Polytechnic (1951-1960).

Today, there is a museum of ceramics. In October 2003 the building was listed as an architectural heritage of Lithuania.
