First Landing State Park is a state park in Virginia, United States, located in the Chesapeake Bay. This is the most visited state park in Virginia.
Until 1997, the park was called the Seashore State Park. The current name of the park is literally the first landing. It reflects the fact that near his April 144, 144-day journey from England, Christopher Newport landed, along with the expedition of 104 colonists, who later founded Jamestown, the first permanent settlement of English colonists in North America.
The park covers an area of 11.69 km² and has a two-kilometer beach. There are 20 tourist cabins for rent as well as camping. The park has 9 hiking trails totaling over 30 kilometers.
