Janusz Woronicz


Janusz Woronicz-Werner (born June 27, 1805 in Prawnienie Wielki - now a district of Sławomir in Volhynia, died July 4, 1874 in Paris) - activist of the Great Emigration.

The son of Wojciech and Franciszek Kraszewski, he was the nephew of the primate of John Paul Woronicz. In 1830 he was secretary of the Sejm of Congress. Participant of the November Uprising. After the fall of the insurrection, he went to France to emigrate. He was the secretary and diplomatic agent of Prince Adam Jerzy Czartoryski. As an emissary of the Hôtel Lambert, he has taken missions to Bucharest, Serbia and Turkey. Co-founder of the secret Insurgents and Monarchs Association, editor of the journal May 3rd of the press body of the Monarchical Society. During the Crimean War, as an agent of the Hôtel Lambert, he arrived in Turkey, where he served as a major in the Michał Czajkowski Sułtańskie Regiment. In the years 1856-1874 he was a French consul in Tulce.
