Paweł Stolorz


Pawel Stolorz (born 1894 in Szopienice, died 1961) is a Prussian painter, a member of the Janowska Group.

Before the First World War he worked at the Giesche Mine. After the war he worked as a blacksmith. He was a member of the Janowska Group from its inception until his death. In his work he used the scenery of Szopienice and the surrounding area. The themes of his works are above all the Upper Silesian landscapes from the period before the First World War. Painted with watercolor. Some of his paintings are associated with the works of Nikifor Krynicki. He participated in many exhibitions throughout the country. He received many awards and distinctions. The painter's paintings are currently in museums. in the Museum of History of Katowice, the Silesian Museum in Katowice, the Municipal Museum in Zabrze and the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom.
