He was born in a Polish family in Western Prussia. In 1908 he graduated from the University of Wroclaw and moved to Gdansk.

In 1923 he first sat in the Volkstag of Gdańsk (2nd term). It was also elected in 1927 and 1933 (III and V tenure). In the parliamentary forum he consistently defended the rights of the Polish population in the Free City.

Since 1927 he was the president of the Main Board connected with the National Democracy of the Polish Community in the Free City of Gdansk. He was a member of the Association of Professional Associations of Poland. He was involved in economic cooperation on the Gdansk-Warsaw line. Since 1932 he presided over the Union of Polish-Polish Economic Relations established by him. He was also involved in the Gdańsk Chamber of Commerce.

He was co-signatory of the memorandum to the Government of the Republic of Poland on the situation of the Poles on the Motlawa "Critical location of the Gdansk Polonia" in June 1928.

In 1931 he co-organized the Polish Rifle Association in Gdańsk. He did not resign from the Polonia's activities: in 1933 he was elected Marshal of the Association of Poles in the Free City of Gdansk - a organization competing with the Polish Community. During his activity Polonia was in the dispute with the Polish representative Henry Strasburger.

In 1938 he left Gdańsk and settled in Poznań, after a few months of accepting Polish citizenship. Bibliography
