Chalice (Latin, calyx) - the outermost part of the flower, consisting of a circle of green sepals (sepals), which developed mainly from normal leaflets. The main function of the cup is to cover the inner parts of the flower. It is usually green. In some plants, the chalice is additionally a lighthearted function, which is intended to lure insects.
