Exterior Gallery AMS
External Gallery of AMS - a project initiated and operated by AMS SA, an outdoor advertising company in Poznań. The Outer Gallery was established in 1998 and was changed to the owner of the company in 2002. Its founders and curators were Marek Krajewski, Dorota Grobelna and Lech Olszewski.
The aim of the project was to promote artistic activities in the public space, using the advertising media held by AMS: billboards and citylights. In two or three intervals, 19 selected works by contemporary Polish artists were published. Each of them appeared on 400 media in 8-19 Polish cities. The editions were accompanied by supportive activities such as postcard printing, press release. In this way his works have been shown: Paweł Susid, Jadwiga Sawicka, Rafał Góralski, Anna Jaros, Rafal Góralski, Katarzyna Kozyra (Blood Ties), Artur Widurski, Paweł Jarodzki, Monika Zielińska, CUKT, Joanna Rajkowska, Aleksander Janicki, Rafał Bujnowski, Stanisław Marek Sobczyk, Mariola Przyjemska, Paulina Ołowska, Elżbieta Jabłońska, Roland Schefferski and Marcin Maciejowski.
External Gallery also organized street paintings festivals, exhibitions of art school diplomas (Offer for Europe, Przemysław Kozanowski and Marcin Władyki, September 1999), Joanna Górska's diploma, Toruń, June, 2000, Marcelina Wojciechowska, Poznań, June 2000, diploma of Blanki Boruc, Poznań, June 2001), as well as exhibitions in traditional galleries such as "Outdoors", Laznia Center for Contemporary Art in Gdansk, "Outdoors", Bunkier Sztuki in Cracow). She provided financial support for artists and promoted the arts by sponsoring articles in artistic writings.
Another domain of action was to help organize a few so-called. One-Ribbon Gallery, consisting in providing one or more advertising mediums to the creators of the long-term. Open gallery "Rafał Bujnowski" in Cracow, Gallery "Otwarta II" in Sopot, Galeria Rusz in Torun, bilateral teams of Twożywo in Warsaw, Gallery of No Name in Slubice, Gallery of Cultural Association Theater Ephemeral in Suwałki.
The Outer Gallery has received numerous awards for its work, including: the "Social Media Award" in the "MEDIA TREND 2002" competition; Special Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the competition "ZŁOTE ORŁY 2001"; Title MECENAS CULTURY 2000, in the category PROMOTOR - Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage; Award in the SPONSORING-MECENAT category in the public relations activity "MEDIUM 2000".
In 2002, due to the change of the owner of AMS SA the Outer Gallery ended its activity. In its place, the new owner created the AMS Poster Factory, which operates on a different basis.
