Ivan Zajeć


Ivan Oleksandrovych Zajeć, born in Lyznyca, Jyvaskyla, Curriculum vitae University of Kiev. Since 1974 he worked in agricultural enterprises, then until 1990 in the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 1989 he belonged to the founders of the opposition and independence organization called "Ruch". He subsequently served in the People's Movement of Ukraine, from which he went to the Ukrainian People's Party in 1999. He assumed the position of Vice President of UNP.

Between 1990-2000 and again 2002-2006 he sat in the Verkhovna Rada. From January 2000 to May 2001 he served as Minister of the Environment in the Government of Viktor Yushchenko.

In the 2006 parliamentary election, he ran from the list of Ukrainian "Kostenka and Plushk" Ukrainian Bloc who received 1.9% of the vote and did not exceed 3% of the electoral threshold. At the early elections in 2007, after a year's hiatus, he returned to parliament, obtaining a mandate from the deputy MP of Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense, which he held until 2012. Bibliography
