Torebka Tenona
A semicircular illustration of the sagittal cross section through the eyeball and the eye socket indicates the sheath of the knob (fascia bulbi)
Tenona handbag (capsule bulb, capsula bulb, Tenoni capsula) - thin connective tissue covering the middle and back of the eyeball. It is a type of acetabulum between the eyeball and the orbital fat tissue. In the area of the optic nerve, it grows together with the sclera, from the front into the subclavian connective tissue. Between the scrotum and the sheath of the knob is an epidural space (intercostal space, spatium intervaginale). The name of this anatomical structure is commemorated by the French surgeon Jacques-René Tenon. Bibliography
