Fetal malformation


dystrophia adiposogenitalis (adiposogenital dystrophy) - a rare endocrine syndrome characterized by obesity and malformation of the external sex organs in boys with tumor in the hypothalamic-pituitary region. In addition to these symptoms, other disorders such as polyuria, polydipsia, growth retardation, mental retardation and visual disturbances are also present. There were also cases where it was impossible to diagnose a functional hypothalamus. The disease was independently described by Józef Babiński in 1900 and Alfred Fröhlich one year later. Differential diagnostics of the syndrome include the Prader-Willi syndrome.
