Hans Hoffman
Hans Hoffmann (born 2 December 1919,?) - SS-Rottenführer, member of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp.
He was a Yugoslavian citizen (born in India) of German nationality. He was a locksmith. After the invasion of the Third Reich Hoffmann was appointed to the Yugoslav Army and entered German captivity. On October 21, 1942, he was sent to the SS and sent to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Initially serving there as a guard and escorting work teams. He was then assigned to the Political Department (Gestapo Camp) in the main camp. Finally, in October 1944, Hoffmann was sent to Birkenau, where he served as a bishop.
For his part in the crimes committed in the camp, he was sentenced on 22 December 1947 by the Supreme National Court in Cracow in the first Auschwitz trial for 15 years in prison. He was released from jail under the amnesty of 14 July 1956. Bibliography
