Helkiasz II
Helkes II Younger (died after 61) - treasurer of the Jerusalem Temple.
He was the son of Alexander III of Helesia and Kypros IV, granddaughter of Herod the Great.
For the office of Prosecutor Portia Festus, the Jews built a high wall that would cover Herod Agrippa II with a view of the Temple of Jerusalem. The prosecutor ordered the wall to be demolished. The Jews appealed against this decision to Emperor Nero, and Helgias II and Iscari the son of Fabi, head of the delegation sent to Rome. Neron agreed to leave the wall, while the lover (later wife) of Emperor Poppe Sabin, sympathizing with Judaism, kept Helkias and Ishmael at home.
Probably Helkiasz has lost the treasurer of the temple treasure, because in 66 this was the function of Antipas III. Further fate of Helkiš are not known. The researchers think that he was in Rome until the death of Poppei Sabina in 65, and later - in the face of the outbreak of war in Judea - he went to Cyrene. Bibliography
