Holger Thiele
Holger Thiele (born 25 September 1878, 5 June 1946) is an American astronomer of Danish descent.
He worked in the Bamberg Observatory from 1900-1901, from 1901-1908 at the Copenhagen Observatory and later at the Hamburg-Bergedorf Observatory. Upon arriving in the United States from 1917 he worked at the Licka Observatory. He discovered 4 asteroids as well as comet C / 1906 V1. He also calculated the orbits of other comets.
His father was the Danish astronomer Thorvald Nicolai Thiele, whose name was given to Thiele (1586). Authoritative control (person):
