Jarosław Schabieński


Jarosław Schabieński (born May 26, 1965 in Łomża) - Polish politician, teacher, former Vice-governor of Podlasie. Curriculum vitae

He graduated in 1989 with a degree in history from the Białystok branch of the University of Warsaw.

He worked as a teacher at secondary schools in Suwałki. From 1998 to 2004 he was employed at various positions in the Teachers Education Center in this city. He worked with the Education for Democracy Foundation. He is a co-author of the book "Youth and Teachers in the Face of Power in Northeast Poland in 1980-1986."

In the years 2002-2006 he served as a councilor of the Suwalki City Council. From March 2006 to November 2007, he held the position of deputy governor of Podlaskie Province, with a break from February to May 2007, when he held the position of the person responsible for the self-governing bodies of the Podlaskie voivodeship, established in connection with the inability to appoint a new board of the voivodship (for the first time since the local government reform) and the need to carry out early elections to the Podlasie Parliament of the third term.
