He was of Ossetian origin. He graduated from St. Petersburg's real school and then Alekseyevskaya military school in Moscow. In the years 1909-1912 he participated in the Persian expedition in the degree of sotnik. He participated in the First World War. In the years 1914-1915 he served in the Caucasus in the ranks of the 1st Caucasian Cossack Division. He then commanded voluntarily a volunteer unit of Cossacks, who were active in the rear of Turkish troops in Persia. Since the fall of 1917 he has joined the British in action against Persian insurgents. He then defended the evacuation of the Caucasian Cavalry Corps, which retreated to Enzeli in Persia. In June this year he conducted talks with the British military commander in Persia on joint action against the Turks. On July 1 he conducted his divisions in Baku. He tried to communicate with both the local Communists and representatives of the authorities of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan. On July 30, he withdrew to the Dagestan, bringing with him the support of the British, Derbent and Makhachkala. However, at the end of August, he was forced to cross Persia. In September he made contact with the white genes of Antony Denikin and backed up Makhachkala. By white command he was appointed commander-in-chief of the Russian forces in the region in the rank of Major General. In November, he and his troops arrived in Baku, where in early 1919 the Brits settled his troops. He then went to Gen. A. Denikin. After the defeat of white in 1920, he left for Great Britain. In 1928 he moved to Germany. He emigrated to the Ossetian liberation movement. During World War II he collaborated with the National Socialists. At the end of 1944 he joined the Committee of the Liberation of the Nations of Russia as a representative of the West Caucasus nations.
