Ludwik Zeddeller
Ludwik Zeddeller Ludwik Zeddeller (born 1791 in St. Petersburg, died 1851) is a Baron, a Russian general.
His father was a counselor in the Austrian embassy in St. Petersburg. Young Ludwik graduated from the University of Terezin in Vienna, where he joined the Austrian army, from which he entered Russian service in 1813.
During the Polish campaign (during the November Uprising) in 1831, he was an officer of the Grenadier Corps and participated in many battles. He then served as Chief of Staff at General Gołowin, acting against the corps of Girolamo Ramorino. After finishing the campaign, he was appointed general-major, in 1832 deputy director of the war academy, and in 1835 the cantonal battalion inspector. In the Russian literature he has written as an editor of the Military-Encyclopedic Dictionary, which contains many of his articles, especially in Poland.
