RISK (program)
RISK - an educational program of the National Foundation for Computer Education (OFEK), designed to test English language learners, to run on Elwro 800 Junior or ZX Spectrum computers.
The program was distributed on 5.25 "floppy disks or tape. Along with the media, the user received a small booklet with instruction manuals and methodical instructions for working with the program in the learning process. The program was created in Basic and occupied 15 kB. It was designed to work with two students at one computer.
The authors of the program were: Krzysztof Ordowski and Felix Sapinski. The program was established in 1988 and was distributed in the seat of the OFEK in Wrocław, and postage was also allowed.
On the practical side, the work with the computer program was carried out by students sitting at one computer station, alternating the linguistic test in which the second student chose the answers from the four options. For every correct answer the computer allocated a point. Exercises (numbered from 1 to 30) were selected from Hanna Komorowska's "Testing English" book, School and Pedagogical Publishing, Warsaw 1982.
A separate LOADER program allowed the teacher to select the group-specific exercises that he chose. Bibliography
