The Abkhazian-Adyaran people
The Abkhazian-Adyans are a group of indigenous peoples in the western Caucasus:
They live in the Caucasus, but much of it migrated in the 19th century to Arab countries and to Turkey. They use the languages of the North-Caucasian languages. In spite of the historical fate, there are many common elements in the culture of these peoples: Sunni (Abkhazians also profess Orthodoxy), in the economy of these peoples (besides the Adygeans), apart from agriculture, pastoralism also played an important role. Most of the norms of customary law (adat) have been preserved, and the atypical (ie giving up children to other families, mostly in the higher classes). There are also some folk themes, such as the Nordic epic (describing the extraordinary heroes' actions - Narts).
