Adam Massinger


Adam Massinger (born 6 September 1888 in Freudenheim near Mannheim, died 21 October 1914 in Ypres) is a German astronomer.

In 1908 he began to study mathematics and natural sciences at the University of Heidelberg. In 1912 he started working at the Landessternwarte Heidelberg-Königstuhl in Heidelberg, where he discovered 7 asteroids.

In 1914, at the beginning of World War I, he was appointed to the military service and died in the battle of Ypres.

The name of the asteroid originates from Massinga.
