Jewish cemetery in Pila


Jewish cemetery in Piła - founded in 1627 was located at the present pl. Domanski. After enlarging in 1854, it occupied an area of ​​0.8 hectares. In 1896 a pre-burial house was erected, then enlarged in 1924. In the mid-twenties, a monument to Jewish soldiers killed during the First World War was erected in the cemetery. The cemetery was destroyed by the Nazis during the Second World War and a park was erected there. At present, there is a kindergarten and gymnasium of the police school on the grounds.
