2046 - Sino-German-French-Italian-German science fiction drama directed by Wong Kar-Waia, 2004.

Story

The action takes place in Hong Kong in the late sixties. It also includes memories of the hero's past and the run-up to the future - 2046. The film is a chronicle of four consecutive relationships of a man, but each of them pervades memories of the hero's earlier relationship with a married woman who never turned into a romance. This is the greatest emotional experience of a man, a theme from Wong's previous love for love (2000), which ended with an attempt to free himself of memories - the hero leaves them in the walls of the Angkor Wat temple.

Wong's idea is that the hide in the walls becomes in another 2046 movie, space-time, where nothing changes, a place where nothing is lost, so everything can be found, , retained, rejected or deferred. 2046 is Wong's last hotel room number, but also the title of a novel by Chow Mo-Wan, where the hero recalls memories of his past and present love in a science fiction convention.

2046 is full of and to Wong's earlier films, and production is a summary of his past work. Production

The first sketches of the script he showed to his co-workers in 1998 asking them for feedback or corrections. He described three distinct stories, each inspired by a nineteenth-century opera, all centered around sexual relationships between humans and the rovers of the future. Wong did not concede that he chose the year 2046 because it marks the fiftieth anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to China's rule - an allusion to the promise signed by the Chinese-British agreement signed by Deng Xiaoping and Margaret Thatcher on the future of this territory.

During the years of trial rehearsals in Bangkok in 1999 and the rush to finish the final version of the film before its premiere in Cannes in May 2004, the project was re-created. Various factors influenced the direction of its development, some of them financially or logistically. The most significant, however, was the world-wide success of Thirsty for Love. Wong's status in the film world has grown to such an extent that Coppola's to inspiring his films in Oscar's thanks was not a sensation.

In France, the film turned out to be the best-selling non-American foreign film in history. Like the Fallen Angels (1995) portrayed another side of the Chungking Express reality, so 2046 transformed into a shadow of Thirsty Love: Partially sequel, partially remixed.

The director was involved in several side projects during this time. The biggest of them was his contribution to the collective work of Eros (2004) - The Hand Wong was considered the best part of the film, although his work was also presented by Steven Soderbergh and Michelangelo Antonioni. He made a video for Six Days DJ Shadow and Lacoste and BMW. The director also set up a management department dealing with artists. Jet Tone has opened offices in Shanghai and Taipei.

English subtitles for the film began to be produced at the end of April 2004. During this period, Wong continued to shoot additional shots with Tony Leung and Gong Li, and William Chang Suk Ping hastily arranged the editor's corner in the Ramindra studio lobby and worked continuously on the preparation of the tapes for sound. All this demonstrates that Wong is one of the artists who needs a clear deadline to make the final decision on his production. The rush was needed to finish
