Ohrick school of writing

Codex Assemanius

The school was founded at the end of the ninth century by one of the companions of St. Cyril and Methodius, Clement, later called Ohrid. When in 893 Clement was appointed Bishop of Drembica, the care of the disciples came from Preslav Naum.

The purpose of the school was to educate future teachers and clergy, and the school itself could be called a medieval university. Founded by St. Clement of St. Catherine Panteleimon became a translation and translation center.

Unlike the Preslav school, in Ohrid, mainly glagolism was used. Later in the second half of the 10th century, two alphabets were used in the introduction of Cyrillic. The author of the Ostrich school is characterized by a certain conservatism and attachment to traditional forms, while in the Preslav school the Greek texts were readily available. Sam Klemens Ohrid was the creator of several dozen words of instruction, eight words of praise and hymnographic works. The literary style of the Oahu school of literature was characterized by simplicity and clarity of expression. One of the oldest Glagolitic codes is involved in the school's activities

Written mostly praise and instruction, life and hymnography. The service to St. Cyril and St. Clemente, but their texts have not survived until today. Comments Bibliography
