Anjou (French: Anjou) is a historical region in western France, in the basin of the Lower Loire. In the Roman Period was inhabited by the Gallic tribes of the Andean. In the 10th century it was a French county. In 1154 she was acquired by Plantagenet. In 1205 it was recovered for France by Philip II Augustus. From 1360 it was a duchy in the hands of the Neapolitan Annamese dynasty. In 1487 it was finally incorporated into France.
