Georgian Morozov
Georg Morozov (born 7 January 1867 in St. Petersburg, died in 1920) is a Russian scientist, ecologist and forest gardener. His mother was Polish. He graduated from Aleksandrowski Cadet Corps and Pawłowska Military School. He then joined the Petersburg Forest Institute, which graduated in 1893.
He published 315 scientific papers on forest science. He created the basis for the development of forest typology. The habitat conditions and the composition of the forest stand on the basis of the assumption that certain habitat types in a given geographical area correspond to a specific type of stand. In 1920 he wrote a textbook "Osnowanija nauenija o lesie", which was repeated several times later. In Polish, the title was published in 1953.
