GURPS

GURPS (short for Generic Universal Role-Playing System) - a universal feature-playing mechanic, released by Steve Jackson Games in 1986 (successive editions 1987, 1988, 2004). It allows you to play in different realms - fantasy, science fiction, contemporary world, historical, horror. Intricate rules are intended to provide a high level of detail, tactical display, especially in character formation and combat, and a compromise between realism and the film convention.

GURPS is a very actively supported system by the publisher. There are hundreds of add-ons supporting the game in specific genres, including descriptions of the game world or certain aspects of our world. GURPS has released several licensed adaptations of worlds from fantasy literature or other RPGs such as Vampire Masquerade, Deadlands, Blue Planet, Traveler, GURPS: Uplift based on David Brin's Uplift Saga, GURPS: Witch World. The World of Witches Andre Norton.

The GURPS system was also intended to be used in Fallout, but was eventually used in the SPECIAL system.
