Vincenzo Cerulli
Vincenzo Cerulli (born April 20, 1859 in Teramo, May 30, 1927 in Merate) is an Italian astronomer.
He worked at a private observatory in Teramo. He conducted observations of Mars, as he first proposed the theory that the Martian channels are only an optical illusion. Together with Eliza Millosevich, he worked on star catalogs. In 1910, he discovered the asteroid (704) Interamnia, calling it the Latin term for his home town of Teramo. His name was Crater on Mars and Vincentin's (366) planetoid. Authoritative control (person):
